We opened our doors to the community in April 1953, and every day since, we have been serving the people of Monterey County with high-quality care and compassion. As our facility grew from a rural district hospital to a comprehensive care system, we have expanded beyond a place to visit for emergencies to a future-facing organization with a greater focus on the benefits of public health and individual well-being.
Our new name and look honor the foresight of our founders and the rich diversity of our region. They reflect our vision of a community where good health grows through every action, in every place, for every person.
A highly qualified and dedicated team of physicians, nurses, and clinical and nonclinical staff drive our culture of ongoing improvement, continually raising the bar in our quest for excellence. The new brand of Salinas Valley Health supports broader awareness of our belief that good health is the foundation of a thriving community – and that community well-being is fundamental to individual well-being.
Much has changed since our opening in 1953. What has never changed in our service as a trusted resource is our reputation for compassionate expertise, our leadership in the community and an outstanding internal culture of teamwork, collaboration and innovation.
Salinas Valley Health sets its sights on the long view – an inclusive approach to community health combined with advanced treatment, technology and specialized care.
We look forward to what the future holds as science continues to transform the field of healthcare. We value our deep roots in the region and are immensely grateful for our team’s optimism and perseverance in helping those we serve rise in good health.
The Evolution of Our Logo
The new logo that accompanied our 2023 brand launch of Salinas Valley Health is a modernized evolution of our legacy logo harkening back to the early history of our hospital. The center of the logo represents a coming together in the pursuit of optimal health by our patients, their families, our community and Salinas Valley Health. The four arms of the symbol combine to create a plus sign or cross – an iconic emblem for health. All points of the arms stretch outward, reflective of our outreach to the community. The upper arms reflect growth, while the lower arms represent our deep roots in the region.
