Sustainable Growing in Support of Our Community

From completion of its new parking garage annex, opening of a retail pharmacy, and renovation of our Starbucks, to landscaping to attract our region’s iconic monarch butterflies, Salinas Valley Health continues to grow in how it supports our community.

Expanded Parking Availability

Construction of the four-story parking garage annex, which opened in December 2023, added 161 parking stalls to our medical center. Green features that support the health of our environment include a solar canopy with a robust system delivering years of clean energy production. It also brought an additional 12 electric vehicle charging stations to our facility with infrastructure in place for future expansion.

Retail Pharmacy Open to Public

Salinas Valley Health’s new retail pharmacy provides rapid prescription fulfillment in a convenient setting that lets you avoid long lines at drugstore pharmacies. Located in the gift shop in the building adjacent to our medical center, the retail pharmacy is an easy stop. Its team offers personalized service, including helping customers take advantage of the MyChart app for communicating with physicians and using RxLocal to manage medications for the entire family.

Starbucks Remodel

Directly next to the retail pharmacy and gift shop is our remodeled Starbucks. In addition to the crisp, new look and spacious customer area, the store now accepts mobile orders, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Specially designated parking for Starbucks customers is available in the parking garage and our friendly Salinas Valley Health staff run the full-service store, making it a welcoming place to visit whether you are at our medical center or in the neighborhood.

Butterfly Landscaping

Our staff at Salinas Valley Health are at the heart of so much of what we do. From lifesaving medical procedures to creating a welcoming environment for patients and visitors, they drive innovation and provide inspiration. A simple suggestion from one of the groundskeepers to plant milkweed has helped attract monarch butterflies to our campus. The butterflies, which feed exclusively on milkweed, are enticed to our special landscaping and drink nectar from the flowerbeds surrounding our medical center. Often seen flitting around, the monarchs have become a welcome sight for staff and visitors alike.
